Vegan
slice
This
slice was absolute heaven! I added a few extra ingredients into this time in
the hope that it would taste better and stick together better and it did!!
For
the topping
¼
cup of water
3-4
large medool dates
8-10
dried pitted prunes
5-10
medium to large dried figs
For
the base
2
tbsp of ground LSA, (mine was chia, bulgar and quiona) I used this to make the
mixture more like a biscuit (optional)
2/3
cup of almonds and walnuts
3
tsp of coconut sugar (add to taste)
2
dates
Desiccated
coconut (optional)
Steps:
1) Blend each dried
fruit separately e.g figs and dates with a little bit of water
2) Once blended leave
to sit for 10 minutes to allow them to get sticky and gooey! (this step plays a
key role in keeping the slice moulded together)
3)Whilst the dried
fruit is sitting, add the nuts into the blended/food processor and blend until
a powdered consistency is reached
4) Next blend the
ground nuts with the LSA and coconut sugar and add a small amount of water to
make the base stick together
5) Compact the base
into a baking dish with a spoon until flat
6) Next add each layer
of dried fruit individually and smooth over with a knife
7) Finally add toppings
e.g chopped walnuts and coconut
8) Bake at 120 degrees
for 20-30 minutes and leave in the fridge to set
